Unlimited inspiration with Tony Robbins

“The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you're in control of your life. If you don't, life controls you”

~Tony Robbins

Tony has been an inspiration to millions till date. For those of you who aren’t aware, Tony is an American life-coach, self-help guru, motivational speaker and author. The most famous works of his career are his books, 'Unlimited Power' and 'Awaken the Giant Within' and his amazingly powerful seminars, 'Unleash the Power Within' and 'Mastery University'. But the part that inspires me most about this guy is that despite having a very tough childhood, he refused to accept failure and became a successful life-coach and entrepreneur ( he is the chairman of 7 companies too). So how did he do it? You are about to find out

What was Tony’s childhood like

Tony attended high school in California but never went to college. Sources reveal that he had a very disturbed childhood. According to one magazine,"Robbins was raised in a violent household by a volatile mother addicted to prescription drugs and alcohol. After she kicked him out of the house when he was 17, he worked as a door-to-door repairman. However, by the age of 24 he was a millionaire”.

For those of you thinking that life hasn’t been fair to you, think of this man and the toughness he went through.

Start of career

Tony came in contact with Jim Rohn, a motivational speaker and started his career by promoting Jims’ sessions. According to Robbins, Rohn taught him that "happiness and success in life are not the result of what we have, but rather of how we live. What we do with the things we have makes the biggest difference in the quality of life." Later Tony started as a life-coach himself and gave training in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and Ericksonian Hypnosis

Tony started to gain a lot of attention and popularity by his books, TV infomercials and even fire walking in his sessions.

Tony –a bestseller author

The success of his career was accompanied by two best-selling books, “Unlimited Power” and “Awaken the Giant Within”. The first book was released in 1987 and talked about how to overcome your fears, being better at relationships and maintaining proper health (mental and physical) and energy.

The second book, which was released in 1991, was focussed more on motivation towards personal development and techniques for the same.

Success is not just about making money- Tony gives back to the society too

A founding strategist of the Presidential Summit for America’s Promise, Robbins partnered in helping to design systems that generated over two million mentors for young people throughout the United States. Four Presidents and Secretary of State Colin Powell partnered with Robbins in the process

Robbins was selected as Vice Chairman of Health, Education, and Science for the United Nations Research Centre for the International Council for Caring Communities (ICCC) NGO.

Lessons to take from Tony:

When I read about where Tony came from, I said “Wow! A super-successful man who was kicked out by his mother?” So here are the following things I have learned from Mr. Tony Robbins

  1. It doesn’t matter where you come from and what you do. As long as you are willing to dedicate yourself to a purpose, success will find you.

  2. Life is not just about making money and acquiring power. It is about giving back and helping others which makes you a valuable human being.

  3. Do not believe that circumstances control your life. Take charge yourself and your life will be an adventure.

To Your Success!
